Ramadan: Dogara tells Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s leadership

Hon. Yakubu Dogara, speaker of Nigeria’s house of representatives has called on Muslims to pray for the country’s leadership in this Holy month of Ramadan.

Dogara made this call in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Turaki Hassan.

The speaker stated: “As the fourth pillar of Islam, Ramadan fast is a significant act of worship which among others, teaches compassion, love, sacrifice, good neighborliness and peaceful coexistence.”

“While urging you to use this golden opportunity to pray for the good heath and full recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari and for continued peaceful coexistence of the country and it’s economic revival, I also enjoin you to always reflect on the virtues of forgiveness, abstinence and genuine love towards one another and make them integral part of your daily lives”.

He also lauded the efforts and sacrifices of Nigerians in the present economic situation, stating that the President Muhammadu Buhari led-administration will certainly proffer solutions to the current challenges.
