
The managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Nsima Ekere, was involved in a road accident on Thursday morning.
A trailer ran into the lead vehicle of Ekere’s convoy, killing one of the policemen attached to the managing director.
The Cable reports that the accident happened along the Calabar-Itu road in Cross River state.
The commission’s director of corporate affairs, Toye Abosede confirmed the incident in a statement.
He said that those who got injured were taken to the hospital for “urgent medical attention”.
The managing director was traveling to Calabar to receive Acting President Yemi Osinbajo who visited the state to commission some projects.
