Rev. Tor Ujah, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), has told Borno state Christian pilgrims to pray President Muhammadu Buhari’s speedy recovery in Israel.
Rev. Uja said this on Friday at the Aminu Kano International Airport as the first set of Christian pilgrims were set to depart for Israel.
“The President, who is in the United Kingdom for a medical checkup, needs your prayers for a speedy recovery to enable him to continue with the good work he has started because you are now traveling to a holy land,” he said.
Uja, while lauding the Borno Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, for sponsoring the 130 pilgrims urged them to be good ambassadors of Nigeria.
The executive secretary also said the development was “to heal a people that unnecessary war had ravaged.’’
“I want all the northern governors to establish the Christian Pilgrims Commission in their states to make traveling easy for the pilgrims,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the pilgrims left the country around 1:30 a.m., on Friday morning.
The Kano State government also sponsored Christian pilgrims in the state.
