A 38-year-old man Ramoni Kareem who stabbed another man with a piece of a broken bottle on March 30, in Ogun State is facing trial in a Magistrate Court in Ota.
The accused who resides at No. 42, Debola St., Iyana-IIogbo pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.
Sergeant Chudu Gbesi, the prosecutor, said during a court hearing today that Kareem and others currently at large committed the offences on March 30 at about 2:00pm in Ota.
The accused stabbed the victim, Emmanuel Ojo with a broken bottle on the head which contravenes Sections 355 and 416 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
Senior Magistrate of the court, Mr. S.O Banwo granted the accused bail in the sum of N75,000 with two sureties in like sum and the sureties should be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment to Ogun State government and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
The case has been adjourned for hearing till May 3.
