The Court of Appeal sitting in Benin City, Edo state, on Friday, upheld the election of Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the duly elected governor of the state.
Recall that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, in the September 28, 2016 state gubernatorial election, filed an appeal at the court, challenging Obaseki’s election victory despite the state’s election tribunal ruling which affirmed Obaseki as governor.
Obaseki thanked the people of Edo State for their unwavering support.
The Court of Appeal in Benin has just reaffirmed my victory at both the polls and #EdoTribunal. I thank you all for your unwavering support.
