Supreme Court sacks PDP Senator in Taraba

The Supreme Court on Friday has passed a judgement which ordered PDP Senator, Abubakar Danladi, of Taraba North to leave his seat and refund all salaries and allowances he had received within 90 days, while declaring Alhaji Shuaibu Isa Lau of the PDP to be Taraba North’s Senator.

The court gave the order while delivering its judgment in the appeal filed by Lau, after he challenged the Court of Appeal’s ruling which upturned his victory in the primary election, following his claim that he was wrongfully substituted.

The Court also sacked a member of House of Representatives representing Vadeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency of Benue State.

Hemen Hembe of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was also ordered to return all emoluments he collected as a lawmaker to the National Assembly and that Dorothy Mato also of the APC to be sworn in immediately as the rightful representative of Vadeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency.
