The Nigerian National Football League (NNL), the country’s second tier league has signed a partnership deal worth N200 million with sports betting company, Bet9ja, as part of efforts in supporting grass root football development in Nigeria.
The sponsorship which is for the next three years was signed at the Protea Hotel in Lagos on Thursday.
The Chairman of NNL, Chidi Ofor Okenwa while expressing gratitude on the development said the partnership was a “win-win” for both parties.
“This is like a partnership made in heaven because it will afford the NNL to improve on the league which serves as the bedrock of the country’s football, Okenwa said.
Bet9ja’s managing director, Ayo Ojuroye also said his company was committed to improving grass root football in Nigeria.
He said: “It is our goal to support what is our own hence the decision to support the NNL, it is a testament of our plans for the Nigerian youths. We want to support grassroots development and promoting the league will help us in achieving that.
