Aba: rainstorm destroys properties worth N10 million

Rainstorm destroyed properties valued at over N10 million in the Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology in Aba, Abia State.

The ICT resource Centre, corp members’ lodge, overhead water tank for offices and hostels, female hostel A, bursary department, physics laboratories and students relaxation centre were hit by the storm.

Rector of the school, Prof. Chidi Ezeama in an interview with Vanguard, thanked God that no life was lost. He called on the state government, members of the public to help the institution with computers, repairs of affected structures and equipment.

The management of the institution has provided temporary accommodation to affected students and corp members to ensure students concentrate on their ongoing examination.

Chairman of the school’s Governing Council, Mr. Chris Eze said, he will work with his members to address the issue and also notify the state government on the need for repairs and renovation to be done in the school.
